A relaxed first conversation. No pressure, no commitment.

A couple in their sixties smiling on a coastal bike path lined with palms and sea oats beside the Gulf in Florida.

Most plans for aging focus on the last few years. Ours focuses on the twenty before them.

For most people, health fades quietly. A little less energy. A little less strength. A name that takes longer to find. None of it feels like much on its own. Our work is to hold that line higher and longer, so the good years stretch out ahead of you.

A typical aging curve, which peaks early and declines slowly, reshaped into a long, high arch that holds strong until a short decline near the end.
This is the healthspan arch, and it is our logo. A long, strong stretch of life, with the decline pushed as far out as we can.

The healthspan arch

Squaring the curve: more strong years, fewer hard ones.

Lifespan is how long you live. Healthspan is how long you live well: strong, clear-headed and on your own terms. Doctors call the work of stretching it “squaring the curve.” Instead of a slow slide that starts in your fifties, the goal is a long, high plateau, with any decline pushed as late as possible.

Why this matters in the U.S.: Americans spend about 12 years of life in poor health, the widest gap of 183 countries studied.

Lennie Carlson, APRN, shows a member in his fifties peptide vials in a bright Wellevity longevity clinic treatment room in Florida.

Typical aging

Strength, energy and memory fade a little each year, often with no one measuring. By the time something is diagnosed, years of decline have already happened.

The Wellevity approach

A program built to square the arch

At Wellevity, every program is designed with one goal: to square your arch. We measure early and act early, so your good years stay high and stretch further. When decline does come, the aim is for it to come late.

How we build your program to square the arch

  1. Measure early. Advanced labs and a look at memory, mood and sleep show what is shifting while it is still small.
  2. Act early. Nutrition, strength and sleep come first. Prescription care, including hormone and peptide protocols, is added when your results call for it.
  3. Keep the arch high. Your nurse practitioner re-measures and adjusts your program over time, so your good years keep stretching further.

Why it matters. More years doing what you love. More years living on your own terms. And more time for the people who count on you.

Metabolic health

Metabolic health is where a longer healthspan starts.

Metabolic health is how well your body turns food into steady energy. Clinicians read it in five numbers: blood sugar, blood pressure, triglycerides, HDL cholesterol and waist size. When those drift, the risk of heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and memory loss rises with them, often for years before anything is diagnosed. That is why metabolic health sits at the center of most Wellevity programs.

The five numbers, and healthy targets

  1. Blood sugarFasting under 100 mg/dL, A1c under 5.7%
  2. Blood pressureUnder 120/80
  3. TriglyceridesUnder 150 mg/dL
  4. HDL cholesterol40+ for men, 50+ for women
  5. Waist sizeUnder 40 in. for men, 35 in. for women

Targets as defined in Araújo et al., 2019. Your own targets may differ; your nurse practitioner sets them with you.

Why our nurse practitioners focus on metabolic health

Our nurse practitioners specialize in metabolic health because it touches nearly everything else we treat. Hormones, weight, energy, sleep, mood and memory all run through it. And unlike your genes, it can change, at 55, at 65 and beyond.

Four of the 14 changeable risks for dementia named by the Lancet Commission are metabolic: diabetes, high blood pressure, high LDL cholesterol and obesity.

  1. Look past “normal.”

A standard check-up often stops at fasting blood sugar. We add insulin, A1c, a full lipid panel, inflammation markers and body composition, so insulin resistance shows up while it is still early.

  2. Start with what is proven.

In the landmark Diabetes Prevention Program, a structured nutrition and activity program cut new cases of type 2 diabetes by 58 percent in adults with prediabetes.

Source: Diabetes Prevention Program, New England Journal of Medicine, 2002

  3. Protect your muscle.

Muscle is where most blood sugar goes: when insulin is working, about 80 percent of the glucose cleared from your blood is taken up by muscle. That is why strength work is part of every metabolic plan, especially alongside GLP-1 medicines.

Source: DeFronzo & Tripathy, Diabetes Care, 2009

  4. Add medicine when your numbers call for it.

GLP-1 medicines, hormone therapy and other prescriptions, prescribed and monitored by your nurse practitioner, then re-measured over time to see what is working.

What it means for you. Better metabolic health means a stronger heart, steadier energy and a clearer mind for longer. In other words, a higher, longer arch.

What would more good years look like for you?

  1. A grandfather in his sixties laughing on the living room floor as a block tower tips over beside his granddaughter, a sunny Florida lanai behind them.

Getting down on the floor with your grandkids. And getting back up.

  2. Two women in their sixties carrying their own golf bags across a Florida course at golden hour, palms and a pond behind them.

Eighteen holes, with energy left for dinner.

  3. Three friends in their seventies laughing over iced tea at a waterfront cafe table, sailboats in the marina behind them.

Remembering the names, the stories and the punchlines.

  4. A couple in their sixties lifting a kayak onto their car roof at a mangrove launch in the early morning, smiling at each other.

Saying yes to the trip without planning around how you feel.

  5. A woman in her seventies with silver hair smiling behind the wheel on a Florida causeway, turquoise water beyond the window.

Driving yourself. Living on your own terms.

These are the goals we build your plan around.

Your journey, one step at a time

  1. Lennie Carlson, APRN, listens over coffee as a man in his sixties talks through his goals at a first Wellevity consultation in Florida.

    Step 1: A conversation.

Tell us what matters to you. We listen first. No exam and no sales pitch.

  2. Lennie Carlson, APRN, walks a woman in her sixties through her advanced lab results on a printed page at a sunny clinic table.

    Step 2: The full picture.

Advanced labs, your health history, and a look at memory, mood and sleep. Mind and body, together.

  3. A couple in their sixties laughing while preparing grilled fish, citrus, avocado and greens in a bright Florida kitchen.

Step 3: A plan that is yours.

Nutrition, movement and sleep where that is enough. Prescription therapy, hormone and peptide protocols when your results call for them.

  4. A man in his late sixties doing a resistance band row with a coach on a shaded lanai beside a pool and palms.

Step 4: Adjust as you go.

We re-measure and fine-tune over time. Your plan changes as you do.

A personalized longevity plan on a consultation table between a clinician and a member, with blood work tubes, hormone and peptide therapy, fresh food and a resistance band.

What your monthly plan includes

Plans starting at $99/month

Prescription therapy, when your labs support it

  • Hormone therapy

For low testosterone, menopause and thyroid changes. Prescribed only after testing, with the benefits and risks explained and regular follow-up labs.

  • GLP-1 medicines

For weight and blood sugar, when your labs and history support them. We start with FDA-approved options, pair them with strength work to protect muscle, and check in often.

Your primary care home

Call your own nurse practitioner first for a sinus infection, a refill or a new worry, so fewer things send you to a rushed doctor's office or an urgent care waiting room.

  • Your nurse practitioner as your primary care provider
  • Telehealth visits for everyday and sick care, plus refills
  • Advanced blood labs, re-checked over time
  • A written plan for nutrition, movement and sleep
  • Follow-ups to adjust your plan and your prescriptions

Prescribing and monitoring are part of your membership. We go over any medication and pharmacy costs with you before you start. Membership is not health insurance; we recommend keeping coverage for emergencies, hospital stays and specialists.

  1. A full medical evaluation

An unhurried visit with your nurse practitioner: your health and family history, current medications, a physical exam, blood pressure, weight and body composition, and simple checks of strength and balance.

  2. Advanced blood work

A deeper panel than a standard yearly check-up, covering heart and metabolic health (blood sugar, insulin and A1c), inflammation, thyroid, hormones and key vitamins. We repeat it over time so we can see what is changing.

  3. Your genetics, when it helps

When your family history raises a question, genetic testing can show inherited risks so your plan focuses on what matters most for your body.

  4. Mind, mood and sleep

Memory, mood, stress and sleep are part of every evaluation, with psychiatric evaluation on site. Many of the risks for memory loss can be changed, which is why we treat the mind as part of aging.

Source: The Lancet Commission on dementia, 2024

  5. Hormone therapy, when your labs support it

For low testosterone, menopause or thyroid changes, hormone therapy can be part of your plan. We prescribe only after testing, explain the benefits and risks, and monitor you closely.

Source: FDA: testosterone labeling update, 2025; Menopause hormone therapy warning update, 2026

  6. GLP-1 medicines, when your health supports them

For weight and blood sugar, GLP-1 medicines can be part of your plan when your labs and history support them. We start with FDA-approved options, fill prescriptions through state-licensed pharmacies, and pair treatment with strength work so you keep the muscle you need.

Source: FDA: concerns with unapproved GLP-1 drugs

  7. Peptide protocols, when appropriate

Some peptide therapies may be considered when your results and goals support them. The rules for these medicines are still changing, so we use only what can be lawfully prescribed, filled by licensed pharmacies, and we tell you plainly what the evidence does and does not show.

Source: FDA: compounding safety review of peptides

  8. Nutrition, movement and sleep

The foundation of every plan: food that fits your life, strength and balance work you can keep doing, and better sleep. National guidelines for adults 65 and older call for muscle-strengthening on at least two days a week, plus balance work.

Questions people ask us

Something else on your mind? Call (612) 834-0769. We are glad to help.

What does a longevity clinic actually do?

We look for the changes that quietly wear down health with age, such as rising blood sugar, lost muscle, poor sleep or low mood, and treat them early. The goal is more years of good health, not just more years. Independent reporting has found that the most valuable part of a good longevity clinic is unhurried time with a clinician who follows you over time (AARP).

What is metabolic health, and why does it matter for longevity?

Metabolic health is how well your body handles blood sugar, blood pressure and fats like triglycerides and cholesterol. Only about 1 in 8 American adults reach healthy levels on all five core measures (Araújo et al., 2019), and when they drift, the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes and memory loss rises. It is the focus of most Wellevity programs because it is measurable, and it can change.

Is everything done by telehealth?

Yes. Your visits, lab reviews and plan changes all happen on secure video, and your blood work is drawn at a lab near you. Because your nurse practitioner is licensed in Florida, visits need to happen while you are in Florida.

How is this different from my primary care doctor?

Primary care is built to diagnose and treat illness in short visits. We spend longer with you, test more deeply, and focus on keeping you strong, sharp and independent. Many members keep their current doctor, and with your permission we share results with them.

Do I need to stop seeing my primary care doctor?

No. Many members keep their current doctor. With your permission, we are happy to share your results with them.

What happens at the first evaluation?

A long visit with your nurse practitioner: your health and family history, medications, goals, a physical exam, and simple checks of strength and balance. We also look at memory, mood and sleep, and order your blood work. Once results are in, we sit down together and build your plan.

What blood work do you run?

A deeper panel than a standard yearly check-up, covering heart and metabolic health, blood sugar and insulin, inflammation, thyroid, hormones and key vitamins. We repeat tests over time so we can see trends, not just a single snapshot. If you have recent labs, bring them.

Do you do genetic testing?

When your family history raises a question, genetic testing can show inherited risks, such as for heart disease, and help focus your plan. We recommend it when the result could change a decision, not as a routine add-on.

Do you offer hormone therapy? Is it safe?

Yes, when your labs and symptoms support it, including testosterone for men and menopause hormone therapy for women. In 2025 the FDA updated testosterone labeling after a large heart-safety trial (FDA) and moved to remove most of the boxed warning on menopause hormone therapy (Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2026). Hormone therapy still has risks for some people, so we test first, explain your options and monitor you closely.

Do you offer peptides? Are they FDA approved?

Some peptide therapies may be part of a plan when your results support them. Many peptides are not FDA approved, and the rules for compounding them are changing (FDA; AJMC, 2026). We prescribe only what can lawfully be prescribed, filled by licensed pharmacies, and we tell you plainly what the evidence shows. Please avoid "research" peptides sold online.

Will this reverse my age?

No one can honestly promise that, and we will not. What we can do is measure where you are, treat what we find, and track whether your plan is working. The aim is to keep you doing the things you love for as long as possible.

Can you prescribe medication?

Yes. Our nurse practitioners are licensed to evaluate, order labs and prescribe when your plan calls for it.

How can I check my clinician’s license?

Anyone can. Look up a Florida license on the Florida Department of Health license search, or a national provider number on the CMS NPI Registry. We are glad when people check.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can reach out to us directly.

Is this covered by insurance?

Membership is paid directly. Some lab work may be billable to insurance. Ask us on your first call and we will walk you through it.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

It depends on your plan and what each charge is for. Lab tests and prescriptions are often eligible medical expenses (IRS Publication 502). We provide itemized receipts so you can check with your plan administrator.

Who is Wellevity for?

Adults who feel good and want to keep it that way, and adults who feel things slipping and want a plan. Most of our members are in their 50s, 60s and 70s.

I split my year between Florida and another state. Can I join?

Many Floridians live here part of the year. Your nurse practitioner is licensed in Florida, so visits generally happen while you are here. Call us and we will explain how care works when you are away.

Where are you located?

Wellevity is based in Florida. Care is by telehealth, so you can see your nurse practitioner from anywhere in the state.
